WHO ARE WE?
I am Juliet Parker, a qualified Body Control Pilates instructor and founder of The Movement Works. I have been teaching for over 10 years in and around Bristol.
The Movement Works is a small independent business. This Policy explains how we process any personal data that we collect when you visit our studio or register on our website.
Any data we do collect is done with your permission. It is only used by us for essential communication about class and appointment bookings and appropriate direct marketing designed to enhance your experience and the services we offer. We do not share your data with third parties at any time.
The Movement Works takes your privacy seriously and is committed to ensuring that your personal data is protected. Should we ask you to provide information when registering on our booking system or website you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

HOW WE COLLECT YOUR DATA

The Movement Works collects your name, email address and other relevant personal data such as phone number, postal address, emergency contract, referral type, date of birth and gender (where appropriate) when you register through our booking system. This is necessary in order to carry out basic communication, fulfil bookings, give you the best service and to safeguard your health and wellbeing.
We store all data in servers which comply with GDPR regulations related to transferring data outside of the EU.
At the studio, the data we collect is used by myself only for essential communication about you bookings, purchases , reminders and class changes and in the case of class cancellations and emergencies.
We also collect personal data in-house through a hard copy Client Enrolment form. This is required by our insurance company and provides essential information required to work within our professional and studio guidelines. We are required by law to keep client records for seven years after last visit. These records are kept in a locked file when not in use by myself.
HOW WE USE YOUR DATA
We use email and SMS (text) as the primary form of communication. We also periodically send general email newsletters using MAILCHIMP about our services that we offer to both existing and previous clients, or those who have directly enquired about our services or visited for 'tasters' or other events. You have the right to opt out of these at any time (see below).

HOW WE PROTECT YOUR DATA
At The Movement Works we are trained to protect your digital and paper data using our secure systems (MAILCHIMP) and through due diligence with paper filing systems held under lock and key.
We do not share your information with any third party. If you are under the care of another practitioner, be that a doctor or manipulative / physical therapist we will ask that you pass on any relevant information rather than us speaking to them directly, unless both parties have your express permission.
YOUR RIGHT TO OPT-OUT OF DIRECT MARKETING AND PROMOTIONS
We provide an 'opt-out' for marketing emails in every communication we send. We invite prospective customers to 'opt-in' for our promotions in a secure form on our website and during the registration process. There are opportunities to 'opt-out' of these at any time if you don’t wish to stay in the loop and hear about our services and offers.
If you are a repeat customer, we retain a record of your studio visits and activities as well as relevant health and fitness information relating to the services we provide. This data is collected to give you the best service possible and in order to tailor our services to customer needs more accurately in the future.
GENERAL DATA WE MONITOR
We collect information about our customers using GOOGLE ANALYTICS This information includes data purchase history, the amount of time spent on our website, the number of pages accessed and the popularity of each page. This information is used only by The Movement Works to improve our products and services. Google Analytics is a generic tool and does not identify the individual. We do not pass on or sell this information to any third parties.
COOKIES
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer by websites you visit and provide information regarding the computer used by a visitor. We may use cookies where appropriate to gather information about your computer in order to assist us in improving our Website.
We may gather information about your general internet use and how you use the Website, such as how you were referred to it and how long you stay on certain pages by using the cookies. Where used, these cookies are downloaded to your computer and stored on the computer’s hard drive. Such information will not identify you personally; it is statistical data which does not identify any personal details whatsoever.
