FAQS

Here to help with your questions

WHEN CAN I EXPECT TO SEE RESULTS?

It was Joseph Pilates himself who said  ‘In 10 sessions you will feel the difference, in 20 you will see the difference; and in 30 you will have a whole new body’.

Most people will start to feel a difference after 5-10 sessions, getting the sense, for example, that they are walking taller and moving in a looser, more supple way.

The longer you persist, the more you will see and feel the shape of your body start to change. Many people look for a quick fix but Pilates is a lifestyle.

HOW LONG IS A SESSION?

Each Pilates class lasts between 45 – 60 minutes depending on the class you choose.

HOW MANY PEOPLE DO YOU HAVE IN A CLASS?

Having trained with Body Control Pilates I work with a Code of Practice governing teaching standards and professional ethics and I never have more than 12 people in each class.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR FOR THE CLASS?

It is best to wear something comfortable that you can move around in. Layers usually work best as you can add to / remove when necessary. Reasonably fitted clothing helps me to see your alignment, muscle recruitment and make gentle corrections if needed to enable you to work to your full potential. On your feet it’s either socks or barefoot.

WILL I NEED ANY EQUIPMENT?

All you need is a trusty mat, and a cushion to support your head.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I MISS A SESSION?

Unfortunately I cannot offer a refund if you were unable to make your class. You are welcome to ’make up’ a session and join another class within the 6 week term, providing there is space and the class level is appropriate for you. Please contact me for details.

WHAT IS 'ZOOM' AND HOW DO I JOIN A CLASS?

Zoom is simply a platform that enables me to stream live video sessions. All classes are currently being streamed through this platform. I will send you a URL link and login details via email prior to the class start time. Simply click on the link, this will ask you to download 'Zoom'. Once downloaded, enter the meeting ID and password and you will be directed to the session. I will look forward to seeing you there.
